August 19th marks the International Day of Hope. Taken from Carly Marie’s site, “The August 19th – Day of Hope Prayer Flag Project is a profoundly moving, poignant and peaceful way to break the silence surrounding the death of babies and children. It is also an incredibly touching way to honour their lives.”
While I didn’t make a prayer flag to honor my loss, I did make this:
I continue to hold on to hope, knowing that while I suffered a loss a rainbow will come after the storm.
I openly talk about my miscarriage because of the positive reasons for myself and for others. It helps me process my emotions. It breaks the stigma of pregnancy loss. It gives life to my angel.
For those of you who unfortunately understand from experience, I hope you find comfort and peace on this special day. For those who do not fully understand, please know grief takes time to work through. The best support you can give is love.
