Over the summer, my sister and her family flew to my parents house in Orlando, and I joined in on the fun. Unfortunately Mike had to work, seeing as he just landed this J-O-B. But it was good for me to be with mi familia. My nieces showered me with unconditional love and stuffed animal kisses. My mom and dad bought me vitamins, took me to an exercise class, and imparted quality wisdom on me. My sis and I recounted stories of growing up and my brother-in-law made me laugh while telling me stories of their girls, my nieces. It felt good to be with my kin, the kind of good that renews your spirit and makes your heart smile.

At the end of my stay I left Florida wanting to see my Mike again, but hating to leave my family.
This trip fulfilled me
(and just in time for back-to-school season craziness!).

Living in our nation's capital allows me to learn something new every day. So does teaching 2nd graders. My nose piercing and tattoos keep me from normalcy, while my job and religion keep me grounded.
